The Programme

Each Alive ‘N’ Kicking programme outline details the content of our current programmes. To see specific age ranges and start dates for programmes in your area please click on the programme dates and venues link below each outline.

Infant Programme*:

12 week programme for parents and children including a full activity programme for children.

The most important course for parents and caregivers with young children is our infant programme. The infants programme is primarily focused on the parents/caregivers role and responsibilities in their child’s health, with a simultaneous component of fun activity and play for the children. As with all of the programmes this is a twelve week course, consisting of group sessions with other parents/caregivers. The aims of the group sessions are to educate and guide parents in ensuring that healthy lifestyle habits for the whole family are prioritised. The group meetings will act to empower parents and give them the necessary skills to ensure their children grow up healthy and happy.

Children will also have the opportunity to come to a drop off physical activity session on a different afternoon.

Junior Programme*:

12 week course for parents and children including a full activity programme for children.

This programme is very much focused around the family and in particular, the parents’/caregivers role as the family provider and role model. Children and their parents/caregivers will be required to work together and spend time together periodically throughout each group session before separating to participate in an organised and physical activity session. During the children’s activity session, parents/caregivers will continue with a simultaneous group session based around a number of healthy lifestyle topics.

Children will also have the opportunity to come to a drop off physical activity session on a different afternoon.

Senior Programme*:

12 week course for parents and children including a full activity programme for children.

Seniors will be involved in all workshops relating to health, nutrition and weight management along with their parents. The main emphasis of this programme is to encourage parents/caregivers and children to all take responsibility for their health and lifestyle. By working together we empower parents/caregivers and their children to make healthier food choices and increasing physical activity levels.

Seniors’ will also have the opportunity to come to a drop off physical activity session on a different afternoon.

Young Person Programme

12 weeks of one-on-one Personal Training.

This programme is run on an individual basis where young people can begin their programme at any time following their assessment meeting and consultation. Participants will meet with a trainer once a week for 12 weeks and their sessions will cover all aspects of nutrition as well as including the additional benefit of a one to one exercise sessions. The main objectives of this programme is for young people to gain the knowledge and confidence to change current habits and behaviours through the education of healthy eating, weight management and personal empowerment.

*This programme requires compulsory attendance from the children and their parent/caregiver one afternoon a week for 12 weeks.
